THE COLUMBARI - The roman
niches show the rural world vitality of the roman period at the enclosed lands
of Tarraco. The roman niches are the clearest expression of the Vila-rodona
romanization, where we can find ruins from more than twenty ancient villas.
THE CASTLE - The castle
and the main front of Perera belong to the medieval walls that used to surround
a population that used the place as an economic and commercial reference point
of the neighbouring areas. The best preserved part of the castle is the Torre de
l'Homenatge (Tribute Tower).
THE PAROCHIAL CHURCH OF SANTA MARIA - Built
at the ends of the XVIII century, has a neoclassic architecture, is done of
great dimensions and was built upon an old Romanesque temple that remained small
in front of the population increase of the XVIII century. The floor is of Latin
cross and the crossing of the naves is crowned by an ample cupola. Its bell
tower, of near 60 metres, is one of highest of the province. Its square base was
lightened when becoming octagonal the higher two bodies.
THE AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVE - Is
a product of the effort and of the social and farming transformations of the
beginnings of the XX century. The building was constructed in 1919 and it is a
Cèsar Martinell work. It is a good example of the functional modernist
architecture that lately was extended to many wine cellars and cooperatives of
the southern catalonian areas.
THE CASAL - Is a
collective work of the neighbours of Vila-rodona, whom by means of an
associative movement were able to construct a cultural premises that have become
a motor of development of the local culture, in the middle of the Sixties.
