MARE DE DÉU DEL LORETO SANCTUARY - While
we move closer to the village, the silhouette of this hermitage begins to get
painted upon the houses. Its privileged position will keep us from getting lost
as it indicate us the way all the time.
It is located on the Puig-rodķ mountain, close to the
Gaiā river, in a zone with fountains and surrounded of pines. In 1664 this
sanctuary was built to take in the Mare de Déu image. This fact carried to the
arrival of an Odena's chaplain, father Pere.
Knocked down at the end of the past century, it was
rebuilt in neoromanesque style, exactly as we can see it nowadays. The
inhabitants of the village took part in the reconstruction of this building,
under the impulse of father Teodor Magriņā.
The sanctuary is of great dimensions surrounded by
fountains, forest zones and shades. All these elements allow us to have a pleas and
walk and enjoy the view of the sweet sighting plain of the Gaia's
river.
Every year it takes place an open-air festivity to
celebrate a religious event on the first Sunday of June, called the Aplec de
Primavera.
THE SANT JAUME PARROCHIAL CHURCH - In
this church of a late Gothic style (almost baroque of the XVII century) we shall
see a wonderful baroque altarpiece and a barrel organ, dated around 1792, a work
of the royal organist Josep Cases from Reus, author as well of the organ from
the Escorial and the Sevilla's Cathedral.
The church preserves a baroque multichromed altarpiece
that contributes to complete the interest of this building.
