Aiguamúrcia it is the major superficial municipal size of the Alt Camp.
The town of
Aiguamúrcia is a small nucleus located at the left bank of the Gaià river. It
has been formed around some buildings, probably from the Middle Ages. Near to
these buildings, some roman ruins have been found.
Albà,
Masbarrat and Les Destres, are three small nucleus of population. It is
important to point out their great landscape value, as they are situated on an
elevated plain. The forest mass they have around, tum them into a privileged
place as they are in contact with the nature. Near to Albà we find the ancient
nucleus of Albà Vell, where the castle ruins of the village and the Romanesque
chapel remains are preserved. It is also important to emphasize the ruins of a
medieval building in Les Destres nucleus.
The Pla of Manlleu, of relative recent formation, is surrounded
by many traditional Catalan farmhouses. Most of these farmhouses have
preserved the ancient Middle Age edifications. Close to its nucleus we may find
a small Romanesque hermitage dedicated to Sant Miquel (XII century). At the Pla
of Manlleu, we can also acquire wines and Spanish champagne, as well as cold
cured meats.
Les
Ordes is a small association of traditional Catalan farmhouses very closed among
them. Besides its landscape value, one of the traditional Catalan farmhouses is
dedicated to the agro tourism and another one to the production of ecologic
agriculture.
Santes Creus is a small village formed around the
monastery. It is possible to reach it passing through a stone bridge from 1549.
There is a modernist wine cellar at the main street, which gives access to a
enclosure of the monastery.
